Happy Mitzvah Monday! The weekend is behind us and we are happy to proclaim that we managed to survive another absolutely AH-mazing mitzvah party! When you produce the detailed, labor-intensive events that we do, day in and day out, it can get a little stressful. But all that passion for producing the impossible in a matter of hours is what we live for! Cory’s Modern Mitzvah this past Saturday at Meadowlands Country Club was another example of that passion. We designed and produced an experience that not only WOWED Cory’s guests from the moment they arrived, but kept them engaged and energized right up until the last sweet second. Always wonderful to get a note like this from your client:

Thank you Brian and Evantine Design for creating such an amazing night. The room was spectacular. You are a pleasure to work with and your vision and creativity is like no other. Thank you for making everything work and creating a beautiful room. There was no detail left out. Thank you for not only doing your part but also reaching out to all my other vendors and making sure everyone was on the same page!!! You are awesome!!!!

I thank my entire, talented design and production team for their dedication and creativity. Team Evantine, we did it again! We worked together to manufacture some unique custom touches throughout the event that made CLUB CORY truly special!  Love, Brian Kappra, Creative Director & Chief Crazy Read the rest of this entry »

MITZVAHS: Bringing the Jersey Shore to The Rittenhouse for Alexa’s Bat Mitzvah

January 30, 2013

We love when clients walk in the door with a fun party concept that’s derived from cherished family memories. For Alexa’s Bat Mitzvah celebration, our inspiration came directly from our young client’s love of the Jersey Shore. Particularly, her love for carousels, ferris wheels and boardwalk arcades. With this fabulous collage of brightly-hued and vintage-toned beach scenes as inspiration, we managed to gather up plenty of playful ideas for her boardwalk birthday party.

WE LOVE: All Things Neon!

August 16, 2012

neon design inspiration 1 evantine design philadelphia party planners

Okay, let’s be honest here. When neon came screaming back onto the fashion scene last Winter we all thought “Easy Come, Easy Go,” right?  Just a Spring/Summer fashion trend that will disappear as fast as it arrived, right? Oh, were we all so very wrong. Fluorescent neon seems to have struck a bold nerve as it’s now dripping into decorative elements and interior design at breakneck speed. It’s truly back from the past with a vengeance!

Shown beautifully against crisp white, sharp black and our favorite, steel-gray, neon yellow and electric pink are HAUTE in party production. Bar and bat mitzvahs, social gatherings and corporate events have all been inspired by the 80’s color wheel. But what we particularly love about this design style, is that it’s fabulous for men and women, boys and girls, young and old. From table cloths and napkins on dinner tables, to invitations and place cards, reception chairs, vases, pillows, furniture and other decorative accessories ~ neon offers eye-popping options for every celebration. And, if you choose the design elements carefully, you could even incorporate neon into your wedding design without scaring away the guests! Mix in that vibrant pink or glow-in-the-dark orange with plenty of elegant neutrals and you’ve got yourself a chic, sophisticated event space even your grandmother would love. Like, totally. She will, promise.

MITZVAHS: Just a Peek at Dylan’s Modern Bar Mitzvah at the Four Seasons Philadelphia

April 17, 2012

Once again, we managed to transform the Grand Ballroom at The Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia into something FABULOUS!!! (we’re so humble). But seriously, you know you’ve really done an incredible job when the first person who walks into the room is so thrilled that she cries with joy! It’s that unscripted reaction that keeps us juiced week after week of planning parties all over Philadelphia. We truly love what we do!  Saturday’s bar mitzvah celebration was hip, cool and transparently BLUE. Crisp and contemporary lines in white, lucite, metal and glass gave the event design a masculine edginess in the usually traditional setting. Architectural floral designs with imported flowers, like purple King Allium, blue Delphinium, green Goddess Calla Lilies and chartreuse Cymbidium Orchids. Not to mention the light up furniture, lucite chairs, white fringe draping and dramatic lighting effects complete the design. There really is nothing like seeing your design vision come together!

Black & White Dramatic Bat Mitzvah Chanel Inspired Magenta Orchids Melissa Paul Evantine Design

Tease me, please me… We just had to share these GORGEOUS photos from Jessica’s glamorous Bat Mitzvah celebration from this past Saturday night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

Black draping, Black Micro Sequin Linens, White Vinyl Chairs, Magenta flowers and exquisite details all blended beautifully together for a luxurious Chanel-inspired celebration! One of the most fantastic details of the night was the letterpressed, die-cut perfume bottle menu from Two PaperdollsShown below, guests were greeted by stunning black and white photographs of the bat mitzvah, a budding fashionista just like her stylish mother! The photos were framed above mirror-topped “makeup counters” dressed with houndstooth fabric and which held mirrored compacts that served as seating cards.

There is just so much to share on this event as our wonderful client enjoyed clever details as much as we did… if not more so!  As soon as more photos become available, we’ll have them up to share!

REAL STORIES: A Local Jewish Synagogue Goes Modern Chic for David’s Metal & Red Bar Mitzvah

August 24, 2011

Other than working in tents, there’s nothing like finding a large empty room to serve as the blank canvas for a modern metal and red bar mitzvah.  In this case, the blank canvas was a traditional Jewish synagogue in the Main Line suburbs located just outside of Philadelphia.  [Photos: Michele Corbman]

We’re very lucky to produce bar and bat mitzvahs for families with more than one child.  Several years ago the same synagogue was awash in turquoise blue, aqua lighting and coral flowers for a “Cabo” inspired bat mitzvah for this young boy’s sister.  That soft, beachy theme was not going to fly for David!  Oh no, this kid wanted an edgy, urban, modern restaurant environment!  We layered clear chairs, stemware and chargers with metal-topped tables on light up lucite boxes placed against gray drapery.  In came the red flowers in the simple lush centerpieces and BANG! went the party drum!  Although we used roses {the come in such dazzling reds, how couldn’t we?} it was the orchids, anthurium, dahlias and mini calla lilies that gave us the vibrant color layers we needed to convery real RED.  Adding red candles, dramatic blue and red lighting effects, hazing smoke and cool contemporary logo’d signage throughout gave David the room he was waiting for!  Mazel Tov!
